Patricia Ann Boozer was warmly received into the arms of her parents, Albert and Lucille Boozer, on January 18, 1962 in Vineland, New Jersey; both preceded her in death. Patricia spent her formative years growing up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she was groomed to become athletic, competitive, and studious. With unquestionable athleticism, discipline, and laser-sharp focus, Patricia outran hundreds of competitors in track and field as she sailed over hurdles and frequently dominated her leg of the race during the 440 relay. Her exceptional agility was inexhaustible and commendable, as she crossed many finish lines as a champion and a track star. Patricia would later put down the track baton and pick up the bowling ball where she excelled as an avid bowler and league competitor for years. Patricia relocated to Florida in 1979 and matriculated through the Broward County Public School System, where she graduated from Stranahan High School. Her academic excellence paved the way for entrance to and graduation from the now, Bethune Cookman University. Patricia’s WHY inspired her to emulate the passion of the late Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune, as she accepted the charge of Dr. Bethune’s “Last Will and Testament,” as pillars for her life. Patricia exhibited an unquenchable thirst for education, fearless faith in God, dignity in life and death, and she took seriously the responsibility to mold our young people to “direct their power toward good ends.” Patricia brought her talents to the City of Orlando where she impacted summer programs and after school programs for 15 years. The system responsible for her scholarship acumen became the beneficiary of her passion as she served as an educator with Broward County for 23 years. Patricia faithfully served in God’s Kingdom at the Fort Lauderdale Church of God in Christ for more than 15 years where her love for singing made room for her in the choir. On December 12, 2024, she relinquished life’s baton and finished her race. She leaves to cherish her memory, her Son: Xavier Wilson; who was like a daughter Crystal Perez: Sisters: Levonia Freelove, Pittsburgh, PA and Naomi Ings (Daniel), Orlando, FL; Brothers: Charles Freelove, Colorado Springs, CO and Albert Boozer (Unalee), West Palm Beach, FL; one Niece: Taylor Boozer; Nephews: Daniel Richardson and Sean C. Timmons; and a host of family and friends.
