James W. Burrows was born on September 27, 1937, in Lake City, South Carolina to the late James and Alma Burrows. He was one of seven children. He received Christ at an early age and attended Wesley Methodist Church in South Carolina.
He attended Carver High School in Lake City, South Carolina. He later moved to Pompano Beach, Florida where he worked many years as a Concrete Finisher. He later became a member of Prince of Peace Primitive Missionary Baptist Church in Hollywood, Florida. He loved to read Christian novels, play the game of pool and watch western movies. Later in life he met and married Regina Wallace.
James leaves to cherish in his memories: his wife of 43 years Regina Burrows, five sons, Isadore (proceeded in death)-Ft. Lauderdale, Marshall Lee- South Carolina, Joshua-North Carolina, George (Pam)-Ft. Lauderdale, and Tony-North Carolina. Four daughters Lilly-Virginia, Evangeline (Jimmy)-Ft. Lauderdale, Teresa-Ft. Lauderdale, and Sheila (Jerry)-Tallahassee. Eighteen grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, two godsons, three goddaughters and one sister Grace Burgess (living). Two brothers in law Eugene Pettersen and Felton Queen. Evelina, Jim Margret, Rosalee, Beck and Jannie Mae proceeded him in death and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
