Helen Iverson Ruise

Helen Iverson-Ruise was born on March 16,1952 in Oakland Park, Florida. She was the fourth born to Henry Iverson and Thelma Nelloms. She attended Woodson Elementary School in Oakland Park, Everglades Middle School in Fort Lauderdale and Stranahan High School in Fort Lauderdale. She work at Holy Cross Hospital until she transitioned to the Broward County School Board where she worled diligently until she retired in 2016.

She was very well known in the Oakland Park community. Everywhere she went she was greeted with a warm welcome and smile. After several years Helen relocated to Pompano Beach FL.

She met the love of her life Kenny Ruise and they were united in holy matrimony. During her last years she spent a lot of time enjoying her family and friends.

Her Husband Kenny Ruise preceded her in death in (June 2021). She was also preceded in death by her parents Henry Iverson and Thelma Nelloms, sisters Kathy Iverson and Patsy Blake, brothers Ulysses Iverson and Henry Iverson Jr.  

Helen was called home to peacefully rest Tuesday, September 12th 2023.

Helen leaves to cherish: Three loving daughters, Toni Aaron (Cleveland), Lisa Wisdom, Tiffany Goodrum(Eugene) and her only son Brett Smith Sr (Stephanie); siblings: Bruce Iverson, Tarris Iverson (Paula), Melanesia Iverson, James Stephens, Kevin Stephens(Ivori) and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
